HUNTING

At Branko’s Beagles we offer RABBIT HUNTING in the Fall of each year.

Although in Manitoba there is no season on rabbits (hare) we do not feel we should be shooting any during Spring and Summer. This way we ensure a good supply of rabbits to hunt and for our hounds to run.

When you come to hunt rabbits you will be having the time of your life. Not only in terms of the game, but you get a fresh pack of excellent dogs every day. Dogs that can really drive that bunny and give you lots of pleasure to watch and listen to -- you WILL come away impressed.

We leave early in the morning around 7–8 am and are usually back by around 3–4 pm, depending on the group, depending on the day. Lunches are provided in the field.

The airport to fly into, if you plan to fly in, is Winnipeg International Airport (YWG), and accessible via Northwest,
Air Canada, Westjet and Delta. We can pick you up from the airport if need be. Many folks come and drive up and that is fine also.

Your guns need to be registered the forms for which we will send you ahead of time. They are very simply: your name and home address, the make and model/serial number of the gun, and where you are going. Not unlike the registrations in many of the U.S. states.

Your breakfasts and dinners are provided and included in the daily rate and are served in our own home. You will have separate accommodations in the “off” time. Our homestead is approximately 13 road miles, one way from the town of St. Laurent and we do not have mail delivery.

Any game shot you can either take back with you, or can be given away to local people. We DO NOT leave them behind in the woods.

• Price: US $200 per person/day
• Minimum Number: 4 persons ( if you come with 2, you’ll still pay for 4)
• Minimum Stay: 3 days (day of arrival/day of departure count for ½ day each)
• Deposit: ½ of total pricing, balance payable upon arrival
• Best Times: from middle of September till the end of October

We now also have plenty of sharp tailed grouse and can be hunted also -- special accommodations need to be made for this ahead of time. A license is required for it, and can be purchased locally.
